Environmental Policy
Lomond Group is a family-owned business comprising five distinct companies including Lomond Homes, Lomond Timber Frame, Lomond Land and Lomond Properties. We are committed to minimising our environmental impacts and contributing to the mitigation of climate change.
Lomond Group makes the following commitments:
We will:
• Ensure all relevant environmental legislation is adhered to, keeping prevention of pollution as a key priority for all group companies.
• Seek to use resources efficiently including energy, water and materials and continue to encourage staff to improve performance in these areas.
• Minimise waste where possible, seeking synergies with other businesses and through engagement with organisations such as Zero Waste Scotland.
• Prevent disturbance of the local community and environment through minimising noise, odour and visual impacts resulting from our activities.
• Maintain a proactive approach to minimising emissions to air including dust and PM10 in recognition of the impacts on human health and the environment.
• Monitor and seek to minimise fuel consumption of our fleet vehicles by applying efficient driving principles and working towards a sustainable transport plan.
• Where practical seek to use materials with recycled content.
• Where practical seek to use local suppliers and FCS certified or sustainably sourced materials.
• Continue to develop our focus and understanding of renewable technologies in partnership with academic institutions and organisations such as Fife Construction Forum and Green Business Fife.
• Continue to use innovative approaches to sustainable building design, considering lifecycle of buildings, sustainability and pollution prevention.
• Continue to seek alternative materials for use in construction, providing both environmental and health benefits.
• Continue to develop our focus and understanding of habitat creation and habitat protection.
Responsibility for the implementation of this policy rests with Company Directors. All staff will be inducted on the delivery of this policy. The policy will be made available to subcontractors, clients and members of the public. This policy will be reviewed by management on an annual basis.
